Good VPS, fast setup

I ordered a managed VPS. Setup was quick, within an hour. It's working fine for my project. Support ticket response was also fast when I had a question about an IP.

Smooth migration, helpful support

I recently migrated my website over to Host4 Geeks, opting for their shared web hosting. The free migration service was a huge plus; I just provided the details and they handled everything, which saved me a lot of time and potential headaches. The website went live without a hitch. I had a small question about setting up an email account after the migration, and their 24/7 technical support chat was responsive. The agent was knowledgeable and walked me through the steps. So far, the site performance has been solid, no downtime I've noticed, and the CPanel interface is familiar and easy to navigate. Overall, a good experience moving my site.

Great value on reseller hosting

I was looking for a new reseller hosting provider and Host4 Geeks caught my eye with their annual billing savings. I managed to get a pretty sweet deal by paying for a year upfront, which really cut down the monthly cost. The plan came with free migration, which I used for a couple of my smaller client sites, and that went smoothly. For the features offered, like WHM/cPanel and decent storage, the price felt really competitive. Definitely worth it if you're trying to save some money and need reliable hosting for multiple clients. I'm happy with the overall value.

Decent hosting, but slow initial load

I signed up for their WordPress hosting and the performance is generally good for the price. My site loads quickly now. However, I did notice the initial setup for WordPress took a bit longer than I expected after purchase; it wasn't instant, maybe an hour or so before everything was fully provisioned. Customer service was helpful when I asked about it, explaining the process. The free SSL certificate was a nice bonus, and the control panel is user-friendly. It's a solid option, but they could probably speed up that first-time provisioning process.

Thinking of moving my WordPress site to Host4Geeks. Anyone used their free migration service for WordPress?

R RohanB 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
I did! It was surprisingly smooth. They moved everything over in about a day, barely any downtime. My site felt faster after the move too.

Oh, that's good to hear! Was it a complicated site or pretty standard?

R RohanB 2 weeks ago
Pretty standard, a small e-commerce site with WooCommerce. No major issues.

They migrated my DirectAdmin site, not WordPress, but the process was similar. Just open a ticket and provide the old host details. They handled the rest.

Thanks, good to know the general process is reliable.

Mine was okay, but I had to follow up a couple of times. It wasn't as 'hands-off' as I hoped, but eventually got there. Maybe depends on the complexity.

Renewal price for my shared hosting plan just jumped up, anyone else notice this with Host4Geeks?

V Vikram22 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I always check for renewal coupons around that time. Sometimes they have something, but you have to ask.

Good tip! I'll keep that in mind next time.

Yeah, mine too! I had a shared hosting promo for the first year, but the renewal was like 30% higher. Kinda annoying.

Same here, thought it was just me. Did you try contacting support about it?

Mine also went up, but it was still cheaper than moving everything. Didn't bother arguing.

I moved from shared to a managed VPS last year, and the pricing was more consistent. Shared hosting always has those intro offers then a jump.

Definitely for performance and dedicated resources. Less hassle too.

Is the managed VPS worth the extra cost for a small business site?

Hey, thinking about grabbing a VPS plan from Host4Geeks. Do they actually help you move your existing site over or is that all on me?

I Ivy 1 month ago
Yeah, they do free migrations. I used it for my WordPress site last month, was pretty smooth.

They offer free migration services. I think it's one of their main selling points, saves a lot of hassle if you're not super techy.

Anyone know if you can stack promo codes at Host4Geeks? Got a couple I'm looking at.

D David E. 2 months ago
Nah, pretty sure you can only use one code per order. Most places are like that.

S Sam T. 2 months ago
Typically it's one discount code at checkout. You usually enter it at the final step, so you'd see if it took more than one then, but I wouldn't count on it.

Just wondering about payment methods, do they take PayPal or is it just credit cards?

J Josh 1 month ago
Pretty sure they take PayPal. I paid with it when I signed up.

T Troy N. 1 month ago
Yeah, they have several options. Credit cards, PayPal, I think even some others. You'll see all the choices at checkout.

Trying to decide between Host4Geeks and A2 Hosting for a new project. Anyone have experience with both, especially with their managed VPS offerings?

I Ivy A. 2 months ago
Host4Geeks has really good 24/7 support. I had an issue late at night and someone was on it quickly. A2 is good too but the support here felt more hands-on.

N Noor W. 2 months ago
Depends on what you need. Host4Geeks focuses a lot on their managed VPS being high performance. A2 is solid but sometimes I feel the 'managed' part isn't as detailed as Host4Geeks promises.
